Ethnic Uppada sarees
Posted on 09:06 by Unknown
Uppada Silk is named after a small beach town of Uppada in East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh, India. Also known as Uppada Pattu (Silk in Telugu), Uppada Silk sarees are made from the age old Jamdani method. Known for the unique designs in them, Uppada sarees are usually made with Cotton warp. Using only non-mechanical techniques, Uppada Silk sarees are defined by the length and breadth count of threads. The artisans also use a lot of zari work in the exquisite designs of Uppada Silk sarees.
The Making of Uppada Silk
The length count of threads is 100 and the breadth count is 100 in the weaving process of Uppada Silk sarees.
Jamdani made in Uppada has two weavers working on a single loom and weaving delicate and beautiful designs on the fabric by zari work. Since this is an art practiced solely by hands, it takes two painstaking months before a superb piece of work is finished.
Recreating a Jamdani weaving process was extremely difficult in the initial phase, because to familiarize the weavers with the intricate skills of hand weaving took a lot of time. Now the weaving community procure the designs and raw materials and create Jamdani Uppada Silk sarees at their places.
With the glorious look and light weight, Uppada Silk sarees are among the more expensive varieties of Silk sarees in the world.
The average price range of Uppada Silk sarees is between Rs. 5000/- and Rs. 20000/-.
Wearing the Attire
Given the cost of the sarees, Uppada Silk sarees are used mainly during occasions of weddings, festivals and formal gatherings.
They are usually light in weight, and can be worn quite comfortably throughout the year.
Global Appeal
Uppada Silk sarees are held in great esteem the world over and are seen as one of the foremost contributors to India’s textile chronicles. In fact the Victoria and Albert Museum of London boast of a fantastic collection of Jamdanis including Uppada Silk sarees. Mr. Ghanshyam Sarode, the pioneer of this art, has carried the range of Uppada Silk sarees abroad on numerous occasions to UK, Europe, Hong Kong, Singapore, Dubai and Korea. By far the biggest success for Uppada Silk sarees has been in USA where Mr. Sarode has conducted four successful shows. Not only in the shows organized by Mr. Sarode, Uppada Silk sarees have a place of their own in almost all silk exhibitions.
Uppada Silk sarees are a preferred choice by cine actresses across the Indian spectrum for formal occasions.
Maintenance
The recommendation for Uppada Silk sarees is that for the first time, only dry cleaning should be done. The second time onwards, a mild detergent can be used. They should never be dried under direct sunlight.
Interesting Facts and Comparisons
- Because of the state of their origin, Uppada Silk sarees are frequently compared to Pochampalli Ikat sarees and kanchipuram Silk sarees.
- The Uppada sarees are known to be almost ‘translucent’

beautiful gagra choli for a cute girl
Posted on 06:05 by Unknown
Now a days all the kids are trying to imitate the moms and sisters in their home for the party wear. Even they want to wear the ethnic wear like gagra choli etc.
I have a cute gagra choli for the cute kids.....
In this we are using a soft net cloth for the gagra. For the choli we are using a tissue cloth and for dupatta we are using a net cloth again.
Foe the gagra we are using a white soft net which will be very oft and comfortable for the kids specially. And for the white net gagra we are suppose to join a white satin inside the net cloth. As the satin cloth is too soft we need to add one more cloth inside the satin which is of cotton fabric. By doing all this the gagra will be in a good looking way and if the child is thin she will look even a little chubby.
For the choli we are using a silver tissue cloth. For this choli we are using just only one inner cloth which is of cotton fabric. For the choli we are suppose to keep the chest upper part open and keep a zip back side of the choli. And we use a pink soft net as the support for the choli as shown in the picture. We have to use a double fold of the pink soft net as the support of the choli.
For the dupatta we use a soft net in pink color for which we are supposed to add a silver color tissue as a patch for the dupatta.
By this combination the kids will look elegant in the gagra choli.

ethnic wear for kids
Posted on 10:03 by Unknown
Kids look great in the ethnic wear specially at the time of marriages and engagements. As the ethnic wear is a bit heavy o carry for the little kids still we can make some changes in the fabric used for the designing of the ethnic wear. I have a beautiful example for this....
This is a very simple kind of ethnic wear worn by a one year kid. We used a net fabric and attached a nice mirror work lace on the fabric. And as we used a net fabric we used a stripped inner for the lehanga and again a cotton fabric back side of the stripped fabric so that the kid will not get irritated.
We use a cotton silk fabric for the top n made some design for the neck so that the top doesn't look simple. and even for the top also we used a cotton fabric inside the cotton silk for the comfort of the baby.

This is a semi party wear dress which is in black color. This is a dress which we can wear for small get together s like birthday parties etc. And mainly the make up of the women should be very litle so that she doesn't glitter for the lights at the night parties.

Now a days the cute kids are being thin because of they are not eating food properly. So the clothes which the kids are supposed to wear are to be selected carefully.
Hay.... I am having a good party ware frock for the cute little kids. This is a beautiful rose red frock which is having cute flowers looking like roses which are designed by using the satin cloth.Again they are using a soft shining cloth for the upper part. For this frock we have to use a soft cotton inner for the kid not to get irritated. So if we select the clothing which is a bit fluffy in nature that will enable to look the kid a bit chubby.

Fashion among Teenagers
Posted on 09:58 by Unknown
Fashion is something that teens use to fit in which it makes them fell complete. Fashion is a popular style of clothes, hair, manners, habits etc at a particular time or place. The craze for fashion is great among the young people all over the world. Students generally copy fashions from the movies they watch.More over fashion should be promoted to enrich our life but should not degrade it.
Teens find brands to be something that will make them look classy. They classify themselves through the brands they wear and it makes them feel like they fit in it. There is always that new shirt or those new jeans or just some new trend that happens to begin. Teens may feel like if they don't have the latest brands, they aren't worthy or not able to fit in and be themselves. A lot of teens don't realize that this is an issue on their everyday life because they are so caught up with trying to fit in it.
